How do I get out of a Police Ticket issue wich will cost me my licence?

I was recently driving a work vehicle and I nearly caused undercover cops to T-Bone me on a roundabout.....they didnt catch up with me but did talk 2 my boss...my boss fired me and i have to go in on monday to talk to the police officers.... is there anyway out of this? im a p plater and they will take my licence and i will be unable to work...would saying they already took my job be enough as a punishment help? ... or should i just say i dont remeber nearly casuing this etc etc? HELP PLEASE!!!
